The references point to specific Office libraries installed on the machine. If the references libraries have different names under different versions of MS Office how can this work? Office libraries are not backwards compatible as references. You must use late binding if you are invoking Outlook. By using late binding, you avoid having to add the Outlook library to your VBA references. Take a look at the code sample I have on my site thatlldoit.
